The estate is located in the municipality of Welgersdorf in the Burgenland wine-growing region Eisenberg (Austria). Uwe Schiefer was in the catering trade as a waiter and sommelier works in renowned Viennese restaurants, including the Steirereck. After visiting the Wine Academy Austria in Rust he founded his own winery in 1990. His motto is "The wine defines itself in the vineyard without exception" . According to the operating philosophy "less is more", almost no technology is used in the vineyard and in the vinification process to ensure the character of the terroirs and to highlight the grape variety.

The vineyards cover 20 hectares of vineyards in the vineyards Carnival, Hummergraben, Croatian Ried, Reihburg, Saybritz, and Zudelgraben on the Eisenberg, on the Tschaterberg (south-western foothills of the Eisenberg), Königsberg and Hannersberg (Hannersdorf) as well as in the municipality of Markt Neuhodis.
