2015 Eisenberg DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Somewhat smoky, herbal and a hint of bacon-fleshy scent of ripe black berries with juniper notes, pepper and metallic-mineral tones, hints of wasabi and a hint of blood. Taut, tangy dark fruit with peppery and juniper aromas as well as distinct Mediterranean herbs, noticeable acidity, present, fine, youthful tannins, has power but also cooling minty-ethereal notes, still young, chalk and salt in the background, a little smoke, almost sooty hints, very good, firm, tart finish.
