2014 Dorsheim Burgberg Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Nahe, Germany

Quite firm, a little developed, somewhat dried-vegetable to herbal and nutty aroma of ripe stone fruit with a hint of lemon verbena, a little white currant, chanterelles, hints of smoke and yellow spice. Ripe, quite taut, sweetish-juicy, partly candied citrus fruit with a hint of liquorice, fine, lively acidity, very slightly drying tannin, good persistence, tangy-vegetable tones and ripe phenolics, hints of saffron, quite distinct minerality, has bite, some depth, a hint of crab meat and vineyard peach in the very good, taut, sweetish-juicy finish. Still excellent, but unfortunately can no longer confirm the extremely good impression of its youth - also, but not only, because the sugar is a bit in the way today.

Braucht Zeit.
