Wine Review Report :

Wein-Plus rating: Excellent (91+ WP)
Last reviewed: 20 March 2019
Editor note: Cool, firm nose, citrus aromas and peaches, light floral traces, mineral notes. Juicy sweet fruit on the palate, very elegant, lively acidity, still has a touch of carbon dioxide, floral and herbaceous traces, touch of dark berries, good substance and depth, persistent, still totally undeveloped, elegant grip, delicately creamy, some grated apple, has bite and grip, very good, fairly juicy sweet finish. Needs time to mature.
Best to drink: 2021-2040+

The growing area is in the country Rheinland-Pfalz in Germany and is named after the river of the same name. There are many surviving testimonies from the Romans who already grew wine here. The vineyards cover 4,237 hectares of vineyards along the river from Hunsrück to the mouth of the Rhine near Bingen. Near Bingen founded the Benedictine abbess Hildegard von Bingen (1098-1179) the Rupertsberg monastery. The floors consist of quartzite and slate on the lower Nahe, porphyry, melaphyr and colored sandstone on the middle Nahe, as well as weathered floors, sandstone, loess and clay near Bad Kreuznach.
