2015 Hohenbeilstein Schlosswengert Weißburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Württemberg, Germany

Fairly cool nose in spite of the noticeable high alcohol, light lemony notes and some apple fruit, vegetal and earthy notes, light oak becomes increasingly prominent with aeration. Ripe, partly preserved fruit on the palate, prominent sweetish vanilla oak, hint of caramel and butter, elegant acidity, fairly persistent, more noticeable high alcohol, integrated tannins, not particularly deep, smoky and toasted traces, some yellow spice and peppery traces, more slightly obtrusive vanilla notes on a good to very good warm, sweetish finish. Rather strenuous.
