2007 süß Forticus, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Slightly smoky to bacon-like aroma of mainly black berries with cedar, leather, a little long pepper, undergrowth, mushrooms and hinted dry herbs. Ripe, firm, sweet dark fruit with slightly toasty and tobacco wood spice, lots of long pepper and again some herbs, some acid bite, present but fine tannin, lasting, good depth, smoky to bacon nuances in the background, also salty mineral tones, quite complex, well integrated alcohol, still looks young, very good to long, firm finish with sweet juice and tart, partly smoky wood spice. Very skilful
