2005 Neusiedlersee trocken Fürstliches Prädium, Burgenland, Austria

Concentrated, fairly open nose, partly dried mixed berries, orange zests and tobacco, spicy old oak, some vegetal notes and medicinal herbs. Fairly cool dark berry fruit on the palate, herbs and spices, more tobacco and old oak, light acid bite, muted by astringent tannins, quite firm, has substance, but remains rather rustic, slightly sandy and brittle on an otherwise good finish.
