The estate is located in the Andau commune in the Burgenland wine-growing region Lake Neusiedl (Austria). The vineyards cover 12 hectares of vineyards in the Andauer vineyards on the Hungarian border, most of which are planted with the varieties Grüner Veltliner, Chardonnay and Zweigelt. For years, the master butcher produced grapes under the guidance of the sweet wine guru Alois cracker (1959-2007), who then processed them further. Own wines have been produced with the "Schwarz" label since 1999. Under the concept slogan "With friendly help of Mr. K" is the support from the "two K" Alois Kracher and Manfred from Austria Krankl who runs the "Sine qua non" garage winery in California. Krankl brings in the oenological-technical know-how. The goal was the highest quality without fixation on down-to-earth tradition. An extreme takes place in the vineyard thin out on 6 to a maximum of 10 grapes per stick. The wine is vinified by black in his cellar. There are only three products, the "Black White" (90% Chardonnay, Grüner Veltliner), "Black Red" (Zweigelt) and since the 2004 vintage the Strohwein “Black Black” from Zweigelt. In the latter, the grapes are harvested when ripe and dried on wire frames. All three wines are aged in barriques. The rosé "The Butcher" is no longer produced. Around 50% of the production is exported.
