2012 Terre del Volturno IGT Pallagrello Nero hero, Campania, Italy

Tart nose, red and black berries, light peppery and dried vegetal notes, very light meaty traces, earthy notes. Clear, fairly tart, cool, straightforward fruit on the palate, fairly prominent and fairly fine tanins, still slightly astringent, tart nutty notes in the background, good persistence, still slightly muted, light earthy notes, hint of dark chocolate,more nutty notes on a good to very good tart finish. Should mature for a little longer.
