2006 Oltrepò Pavese DOC Pinot Nero Noir, Lombardy, Italy

Tart nose with prominent vegetal notes, some undergrowth and old oak, mixed berries, floral notes and some rubber. Fairly soft fruit on the palate, quite juicy, prominent herbs and spices, light malted note, delicate acid bite, very fine tannins, good persistence, salty traces, an unusual style, shows its origin, some sugar candy and coffee in the background, good finish.
