2012 Barbaresco DOCG Roncaglie, Piedmont, Italy

Dried, floral and slightly iodine nose, ripe, partly preserved red berries and some cocoa, some tobacco and nutty notes, some rum. Ripe red and also hinted black fruit with nutty, tobacco and iodine notes, present, while fine and predominantly mature tannins, dried floral notes on the palate, persistent, slightly ethereal, again a little cocoa and rum, very slightly ashy hints, good Substance and persistence, but only limited depth, some alcohol heat, some salt in the background, good to very good, quite juicy finish with some bite and more ethereal and herbaceous notes.
