2004 trocken Traumzeit, Württemberg, Germany

Aged, strongly woody, toasty to sooty and also nutty aroma of braised and strongly roasted to burnt paprika with aromas of cooked black berries as well as sour cherry notes, aromas of dried herbs and earthy tones. Also mature in the mouth, woody and sooty-roasty, black fruit with earthy notes, burnt paprika on the palate, present, medium-fine, partly drying tannin, a lot of power and noticeable alcohol, rather bitter spice, somewhat reminiscent of nutmeg, slight acid bite, earthy to mineral tones in the background and dried herbs again, a lot of fat, good, albeit again sooty-roasty, burnt-vegetable and alcoholic finish. Clearly better than the first sample about 5 years ago, but still massively burnt-woody
