2013 Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC Ion, Campania, Italy

Slightly animalistic and tobacco-like nose, partly preserved black berries and cherries, dried-herbaceous notes, laurel-like notes, dried-mushroomy and earthy notes. Ripe, juicy, partly preserved fruit, spicy and herbaceous notes, fine sandy, youthful, predominantly mature tannins, slightly roasted and chocolaty in the background, full-bodied but also has some bite, some pomegranate, tarry traces, some pepper, very good finish with touch and juice.
