2014 Irpinia Campi Taurasini DOC De'Gaeta, Campania, Italy

Slightly animalistic, tart, slightly reminiscent of fishy notes, tart black berries and some slightly dried tomatoes, fresh herbaceous notes, some black olives, tobacco, pepper and licorice, fleshy notes. Tart dark fruit on the palate, green vegetal notes, parsley-like notes, fine sandy, firm tannins, some dark chocolate, Havana tobacco and more licorice, peppery notes in the background, elegant acid bite, cola nut in the background, good persistence, full-bodied, not forever deep very well made and firm, very good finish with dark fruit, herbs, tobacco and a lot of dark chocolate.
