2014 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Clear, quite deep, restrained herbaceous and floral nose of predominantly red berries and some cherries with a hint of tobacco and undergrowth as well as mineral and fleshy tones. Firm, tangy-juicy fruit with a certain wood spice, tobacco nuances and a hint of cocoa, firm, quite fine, youthful tannin, some bite, good substance and persistence, still rather undeveloped, salty minerality in the background, also a little bit of herbs, remains relatively cool despite all strength, some depth, a touch of liquorice and pepper, very good, firm finish.
