2017 Etna DOC "Guardiola", Sicily, Italy

Firm and quite deep, moderately barrel-wood-spicy and tobacco aroma of ripe black and red berries with some tobacco, malt, tomato essence, pepper and a little dried herbs reminiscent of lovage. Ripe, dense and powerful in the mouth, juicy, partly dried fruit with tobacco and some cocoa and coffee spice, present, ripe, somewhat sandy tannin, persistent on the palate, good depth, lots of salt in the background, almost powerful body, ethereal spice in the background, clearly liquorice, very good, firm, slightly malty finish.
