2000 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Tart, quite strong mineral notes, appears closed on the nose, partly dried sour cherries and wild berries. Cool and tart on the palate, delicate, slightly sour fruit, has some substance, fine tannins, quite prominent mineral notes, very persistent and quite complex, deep with a long finish. A very individualistic Brunello, gains significantly from aeration, needs a second or third sip to develop and impress.
