2006 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Deep, multi-layered, herbaceous, somewhat nutty, peppery and spicy, with a hint of fleshy mulberry and cherry fragrance with a little paprika, dried floral nuances, hinted citrus and clear minerality. Tight and very juicy in the mouth, ripe, yet tart fruit, lively acidity and present tannin, herbal and peppery spice, again plenty of minerality, a hint of citrus fruit, deep, lasting and very complex, a touch of curry, hinted clove, gains even more tension with air, mouthwatering, tobacco nuances, a touch of noble chocolate and chili, long, tight, incredibly juicy finish with plenty of draught. Grandiose, once again much better than in his youth.

Editor note: Tart, complex nose, vegetal and earthy notes, red and black berries, some dried gerbs, mineral traces and a hint of ju7niper. Clear and firm on the palate, tart, cool, undeveloped fruit, earthy and prominent mineral notes, dried vegetal notes, very persistent, fairly prominent, firm tannins, excellent depth, still rather closed, vibrant, becomes more juicy with aeration, traditional and also very elegant style, very complex, beguiling, very good long finish.
