2004 Barbera d'Asti DOC Nizza, Piedmont, Italy

Editor note: Red berry nose with light medicinal notes and some petrol, cedar wood. Fully developed on the palate, slightly closed, prominent nutty oak with coconut, behind this some preserved berries and plums, hint of spice, chocolate notes round off the wine, make it soft, mature velvety tannins, slightly astringent on an attractive to good finish. Very modern style and very well made, but a little lacking in individual character.
