2011 Barbera d'Asti DOCG Giorgio Tenaglia, Piedmont, Italy

Light peppery spice and a hint of tobacco on the nose, partly preserved and dried dark berries and cherries, some licorice, delicate hint of soup stock, touch of candied nury ripe, preserved, candied, sweetish creamy fruit on the palate, toasted oak, some chocolate, fairly prominent honey, soy sauce and nougat, peanuts in the background, more licorice, hint of tobacco and smoky traces, fairly viscous, noticeable warm alcohol, very good finish. The Amarone among the Barberas.
