2010 Montepulciano d'Abruzzo Colline Teramane DOCG ΠΟΛΥΦΗΜΟΣ / Polýphemos, Abruzzi, Italy

Firm, tart, slightly greasy, tobacco and dried herbaceous notes of ripe, partly preserved red and black berries with leathery and dried-fleshy aromas, dark chocolate and some root vegetables. Tart fruit in the mouth, spicy oak, tobacco and dried herbs, a lot of soya on the palate, some more sesame, some acid bite, cool salty-mineral notes in the background, a little rustic style, some Russian bread, lovage and Beetroot, quite persistent, good to very good, tart, but also astringent finish.
