2010 Barbaresco DOCG Martinenga, Piedmont, Italy

Clear, polished, fine nose of ripe red and black berries with nutty aromas, dried floral tones and a little juniper and dried herbs. Taut, tart, juicy, almost cool, still relatively youthful fruit, fine acid bite and taut, ripe, polished tannins, persistent and dense on the palate, some cocoa and coffee in the background, salty minerality, smoky nuances, good depth, elegant style, tart, nutty and restrained tobacco tones, some juniper and pepper, very good, taut, tart, juicy and spicy finish with tension.
