2003 Marche IGT Pinot Nero Colle Monteverde, Marches, Italy

Preserved red berries and plums on the nose, cake spices and roasted notes. More red berries on the palate, but rather dominated by oak, roasted aromas, cake spices and cocoa, fairly prominent oak tannins, fine, dusty and astringent, fairly persistent, medium body, slightly creamy, not particularly deep, again dominated by oak and slightly astringent on an otherwise good finish.
