2001 Barolo DOCG Monvigliero, Piedmont, Italy

Fairly mature nose, preserved red berries, wilted leaves, some leathery notes and a hint of tar. Restrained on the palate, some spicy sugar candy, delicate chocolate, some more wilted leaves, dried and preserved red berries in the background, quite fine tannins, delicate tart notes, not particularly deep, slightly spicy on an attractive to good finish.
