2003 Amarone della Valpolicella DOC, Veneto, Italy

Preserved black berries and cherries on the nose, quite prominent mineral notes, vegetal and light smoky notes, some old oak. Firm on the palate, spicy oak and some more light vegetal notes, tart with noticeable alcohol, an acid bite and restrained fruit, becomes much deeper and more juicy with aeration, more prominent mineral notes, firm structure, some dark chocolate, good depth, quite a long finish.

Best to drink: Bis 2011+. What our ratings mean
