2006 Colli Aprutini IGT Merlot Inkiostro, Abruzzi, Italy

Very slightly open nose, very slightly tart, preserved mixed berries, fairly prominent herbaceous notes and floral nuances. Full-bodied on the palate, fairly dark fruit, prominent spicy oak, some coffee and cocoa, some more herbs in the background, some licorice, very creamy, noticeable alcohol, astringent oak tannins, fairly persistent, has some cool elements, still young, good to very good finish.
