Petris Malvasia Doc Collio 2016 WHITE WINES-STILL-DRY WINES
THE WORLD OF MALVASIA 2018 |
The winery is located in the municipality of Dolegna del Collio (Comunità Montana del Torre, Natisone e Collio) in the Italian region of Friuli Venezia Giulia. It was founded in 1930 by Daniele Venica and is now run by his grandsons Gianni and Giorgio Venica. An agroturismo guesthouse with swimming pool and tennis court is attached. The total estate covers 90 hectares, of which the vineyards account for 40 hectares. The white wine varieties Pinot Bianco (Pinot Blanc), Pinot Grigio (Pinot Gris), Chardonnay, Sauvignon (Sauvignon Blanc), Ribolla Gialla, Friulano (Sauvignonasse) make up 85% of the vineyards, Malvasia (Malvazija Istarska) and Traminer Aromatico (Gewürztraminer), as well as 15% of the red wine varieties Merlot, Cabernet Franc, Schioppettino and Refosco (Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Refosco di Faedis).
The vineyards are cultivated according to the rules of ecological (organic) viticulture with particular attention to sustainability in order to promote biodiversity. After the grapes are harvested by hand, they are destemmed. Depending on the type of wine, the wines are matured for a long time on fine lees in stainless steel or in large wooden barrels. The product range includes various Collio Goriziano DOC wines (only Collio is listed on the label ) and IGT wines. The premium wines include the DOC wines Sauvignon Ronco delle Mele, Friulano Ronco delle Cime, Bianco Tre Vignis, Malvasia, Pinot Bianco, Pinot Grigio and Ribolla Gialla. Around 300,000 bottles of wine are produced every year.
