2012 Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Tuscany, Italy

Slightly roasted, greasy and tobacco-like nose, partly dried red and black berries, dried herbs and earthy notes, some soup herbs. Juicy, ripe, rather tart fruit with light smoky oak, earthy notes, dried vegetal notes and tobacco, fine sandy, quite prominent tannins, lots of power, but also cooling elements, noticeable acid bite, slightly persistent on the palate, not particularly deep, very good, again rather austere finish with relatively cool juice.
