2016 Chateauneuf-du-Pape AOC Domaine Grand Veneur "Le Miocéne", Rhône, France

Firm, multi-layered and quite deep aroma of partly preserved mixed berries, some cherries and plums with Provence herbs, some tobacco, juniper as well as meaty and mineral notes. Ripe, juicy, very polished fruit, tobacco and peppery-spicy aromas, Provence herbs and earthy-mineral tones, persistent, lots of power, good depth, firm, complex and surprisingly cool for the high alcohol, has freshness, something reminiscent of pomegranate and citrus fruit tones, very good, tight, quite complex finish.
