The winery is located in Capriva del Friuli (province of Gorizia) in the Italian region Friuli-Venezia Giulia
, It is owned by the Istitutio Adele Cerruti. The name comes from a noblewoman who had built an orphanage in the former residence of Countess Elvine von Zahoni. Her husband Théodore de La Tour en Voivre once planted various vines imported from his French homeland. Today wine is mainly grown, but also cereals and fruit. The proceeds are used for charitable purposes. Viticulture is the responsibility of Gianni Menotti. The premium wines are different DOC wines Collio Goriziano
(Merlot Graf de la Tour, Friulano, Chardonnay Countess de La Tour, Malvasia Istriana and Ribolla Gialla).
