Synonymous with the grape variety Terrano; look there.

Slovenian name for the special, iron-containing soil type Terra Rossa, This is available in the Kras wine region in the Slovenian region Primorska as well as in the adjacent Italian DOC area Carso in the Friuli-Venezia Giulia region as a coherent area. Both the Serbo-Croatian Kras (Eng. "Thin soil") and the Italian Carso mean "Karst" and the names refer to the large, south-eastern European highlands (see below soil type in the section "Karst"). The special soil occurs there only as a small area northeast of Trieste. The Slovenian-Italian border runs right through this area. In Slovenia, the red wine is grown exclusively on this soil...
