2008 Dão DOC Quinta das Estrémuas, Reserva, Beiras, Portugal

A hint of open, yet firm and quite deep aroma of preserved blackberries and raspberries with cherry aromas, a little dried herbs, pomegranate and tobacco and cedar woody spice. Ripe, juicy, tightly woven fruit, raspberry, some blackberry and some more pomegranate, also cherry notes, light roasted and spicy oak, light acid bite and fine, just a touch of drying tannins, persistent, slightly nutty, spicy and tobacco, sugar candy in the background, slightly balsamic, a touch of cocoa butter, very good finish.
