The Vlassides Winery is located in the small mountain village of Kilani in the Troodos region in the south of the island Cyprus
, The young owner Sophocles Vlassides is considered one of the Cypriot star winemakers. He acquired his knowledge of viticulture at the University of California
in Davis. After studying enology, he returned to Cyprus in 1998 and founded a small one Garage Winery
based on the California model. The premium wines include the Shiraz, aged for six months in barriques, and a Bordeaux-style cuvée made from Cabernet Sauvignon with a little Cabernet Franc and Merlot.
