2017 Klingenberg Schloßberg Spätburgunder trocken, Franconia/Franken, Germany

Restrained nose, red berries, light hint of tobacco, earthy and nutty notes, hint of undergrowth. Light-bodied, tart fruit on the palate, vegetal, nutty and light earthy notes, very slightly spicy, hint of bacon, slightly persistent, moderate tannins, tobacco again in the background, delicate acid bite, salty mineral notes, initially a little thin and austere, but becomes significantly more expressive with aeration, touch of old oak on a good, tart, juicy, mineral finish.
