The winery in the 19th district of Döbling-Heiligenstadt of Wien was founded in 2002 by the restaurateur Stefan Hajszan. In 2007, a new winery was put into operation. In 2011, architect Heinz Neumann joined as a strategic partner and the name was changed to Hajszan-Neumann. The business also included a Buschenschank on the Nußberg and the restaurant "Die Winzerei". The vineyards were developed on a total of 20 hectares of vineyards. They are located on the Nußberg, as well as in Grinzing, Heiligenstadt, Neustift and Obersievering and are 70% planted with the white wine varieties Grüner Veltliner, Riesling, Chardonnay and Gemischter Satz, and 30% with Zweigelt. A scant hectare of Riesling is cultivated on the Pfaffenberg in Stein-Krems in the Kremstal wine-growing region (Lower Austria).

Since 2005, certified biodynamic viticulture has been practised according to the rules of the respekt-BIODYN and DEMETER associations. This includes fertilisation with compost, cover crop between the vine rows as well as prevention of diseases and control of pests with homeopathic preparations. In the cellar, we work as gently and reductively as possible. Additives are largely avoided. The classic white wines are mainly matured in stainless steel, the single vineyards partly also in large wooden bar rels or barriques. Premium wines are Grüner Veltliner Nußberg and Gemischter Satz Weißleiten. In 2014, the winery and the Buschenschank were sold to winemaker Fritz Wieninger, who had provided support for the conversion to biodynamic viticulture. The Hajszan-Neumann brand is retained.
