Wine Review Report :

Last reviewed: 29 January 2018

One of the five specific ones wine regions in the Austrian state or generic wine-growing region Burgenland, In 2016 there was a restructuring, with changes in the names and the area boundaries. The former name Südburgenland was replaced by Eisenberg. The new name was chosen because the "ü" could interfere with the export and "Eisenberg" was also the name of the traditional wine-growing region in the past. From the 12th century, the Catholic monastic order of the Cistercian contributed a lot to the development of viticulture.
