2018 Chardonnay Grande Réserve lieblich, Lower Austria/Niederösterreich, Austria

Nutty and somewhat yellow-spicy aroma of candied and dried citrus fruits and stone fruits with vegetal and very slightly smoky hints. Ripe, firm, sweetly juicy, again partly candied and dried fruit, nutty and slightly smoky wood spice, quite present acidity, some grip of ripe tannin, tobacco notes in the background, a little salt, a lot of power and noticeable but integrated alcohol, ethereal-herbal nuances, very good finish with warmth, bite and grip.

Editor note: Warm, distinctly vegetal and somewhat mushroom nose of partly candied and preserved yellow fruits with floral and slightly oniony aromas and a hint of honey. Strong, melty and sweet in the mouth, warm, soft fruit, vegetable and again a touch of onion aromas, matching acidity, nutty spice, lots of alcohol, good substance and persistence, some minerality in the background, candy tones, also honey, slightly flowing contours, sweet, spicy and alcoholic in the finish
