2017 Mittelburgenland DAC Blaufränkisch Reserve trocken, Burgenland, Austria

Clear, straightforward nose, predominantly black and a few red berries, moderate, slightly smoky, spicy oak, hint of dried herbs and tar. Firm, tart fruit on the palate, light smoky, nutty oak, fine youthful tannins, light bite, very light cedary traces, hint of tobacco, persistent, some depth, hint of citrus zests, salty notes in the background, some bite on a very good, fairly juicy finish.
