2008 Königsbach Idig Riesling Grosses Gewächs trocken, Pfalz, Germany

Tranquil nose, earthy and mineral notes, root vegetables, restrained ripe, mature, partly candied yellow fruit, yellow spice, some brown button mushrooms. Fairly mature on the palate, firm, ripe yellow fruit, prominent earthy, mineral and vegetal notes, slightly chalky, lively acidity, touch of astringent tannins, persistent and firm, tobacco and some more brown mushrooms in the background, partly dried citrus fruit and zests, firm grip, has some depth, touch of wilted flowers, some lychee, fairly prominent lavender, some butter caramel in the background, tranquily style, bite and candied fruit develop with aeration, very good long finish, ripe and juicy with more yellow spice alight notes of wilted flowers.
