The estate is located in the Ilbesheim commune (Southern Wine Route area) in the German wine-growing region palatinate
, As an originally mixed agricultural enterprise, specialization in viticulture took place in the 1960s. The wines were marketed from 1972 onwards. The business has been run by Frank Ackermann since 2000, father Karl-Heinz takes care of the external business. The vineyards cover 13 hectares of vineyards in the locations Hasen (Eschbach), Kaiserberg (Göcklingen), Rittersberg (Ilbesheim) and Sonnenberg
(Leinsweiler). They are planted with the white varieties Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Gewürztraminer, Silvaner, Müller-Thurgau, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Portuguese, Dornfelder, Merlot, Cabernet Dorsa and Cabernet Franc. The management takes into account the relationships between the grape variety, location and vegetation phase through a differentiated approach to row greening, leaf cutting, tillage, grape care and yield reduction. The wines are fermented individually for each type of wine with controlled temperatures, sometimes for a very long time on the stored and expanded differently in stainless steel, wooden barrel or oak barrique. Fruit cultivation is carried out on one hectare and fine spirits are produced in our own distillery.
