The wines keep constant high level and are usually the best in their respective category in the area. Weaknesses, there is little, but can occur in difficult vintages. However, this must be balanced in good years with particularly compelling assortments so that an operation can hold the status. In most cases you can blindly buy.

The winery of the "Flick family" is located in the municipality of Bechtolsheim (area Nierstein ) in the German growing area Rheinhessen, Viticulture has been practiced in the traditional family since 1600. Today the business is run by Ulrich Flick and Alexander Flick, supported by wine technician Katharina Flick. Alexander Flick collected during his studies in Geisenheim also practical experience at some wineries in the Rheingau, as well as in New Zealand, The vineyards cover 21 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Homberg, Klosterberg, Sonnenberg, Wingertstor (Bechtolsheim), Herrgottspfad (Gau-Odernheim), Höllenbrand (Gundersheim) and Morstein (Westhofen), as well as areas in Siefersheim.

They are 60% with the white wine varieties Riesling. Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ), Pinot Gris ( Pinot gris ) Sylvaner. Müller-Thurgau and Huxelrebe, as well as 40% with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir ( Pinot Noir ) Blue Portuguese. Dornfelder. Cabernet Cubin. regent and St. Laurent planted. The management is carried out in principle in manual operation with the aim of the best possible grape quality. This includes careful Leaves- and stick work, Defoliation the grape zone, gentle ground work, thin out and selective reading.

The motto of the house when it comes to winemaking is to make people want to “Rhenish Hesse” with local wines. These are reductively different depending on the type of wine with the aim of fruit-bearing, with a long one and possibly overpumping. spontaneous fermentation and long storage on the aged in steel tanks or barrels. They are marketed in the three quality levels of estate wines (typical of the variety: wines from the vineyards around Petersberg), local wines (based on origin according to the towns) and site wines (long maturation period, old vines, only in the best years). All local and site wines are reduced in yield below 50 hl / ha after selective hand picking fermented spontaneously and store on the yeast for a long time. The red top wines mature in at least 12 months , Premium wines are the white wines Alexander (Chardonnay) and Jakob (Riesling) and the red wine Bechtolsheimer (Pinot Noir) matured in barrels for 16 months. Around 150,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. The winery is a member of Selection Rheinhessen and Generation Riesling.
