The estate is located in the commune of Escherndorf (Maindreieck area) in the German wine-growing region Franconia
, It has been family owned for many generations. In 2001 Paul Sauer handed over the management to his son Albrecht. In 1977 the newly built manor house was moved into directly below the Escherndorfer Lump site. The vineyards cover 11 hectares of vineyards in the individual layers of mountain, Furstenberg
(Escherndorf), and Sonnenleite (Dettelbach). They are planted with the white varieties Silvaner, Riesling, Müller-Thurgau, Pinot Blanc, Bacchus, Scheurebe, Rieslaner and Kerner, as well as with the red varieties Pinot Noir, Black Riesling, Portuguese and Domina. It works according to the guidelines of natural wine and wine cultivation. Particular emphasis is placed on low yields through consistent pruning, selected harvest and healthy grape material. The red wines are traditionally aged in large wooden barrels. Noble distillates (pomace, fruit) are also marketed, as are pearl wines (Secco) and bottle-fermented sparkling wines. The winery is a member of the two wine associations Fränkische Gewächse and Franken & Wein.
