The estate is located in the municipality of Bahlingen (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region to bathe
, The name was given after the typical volcanic rocks that are widespread in the Kaiserstuhl. The two owners Roland Treffeisen and Willi Würstlin are full-time business consultants. Their families have been winegrowing in Achkarren and Bahlingen for several generations. The vineyards cover only a few hectares of vineyards in the individual layers Schlossberg
(Achkarren), Silberberg (Bahlingen) and stone rocks (Bickensohl). They are planted with the varieties Pinot Noir (0.5 ha), Pinot Gris (0.2) and Pinot Blanc (0.2 ha). Great attention is paid to grapes that are as ripe and healthy as possible. The hand-selected grapes are processed quickly and gently pressed. After the classic mash fermentation, the red wines are aged in barriques for about 12 months. Various oaks are used and a proportion of new wood is used every year.
