1999 Assmannshausen Höllenberg Spätburgunder Spätlese trocken **, Rheingau, Germany

Spicy nose of red berry preserves and plums, with elegant mineral notes. Crisp and juicy, smoky and spicy oak notes, very fine-grained, present tannin, still young and very firmly structured, lively almost piquant acidity, clean fruit, good grip on the palate, very persistent, still very undeveloped, very long finish.
