2011 Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg Spätburgunder Grosses Gewächs trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Cool, taut, very mineral aroma of red berries and cassis with fine tobacco and herbal aromas as well as moderate, nutty wood notes. Pure-toned, tightly knit, sweetly juicy fruit in the mouth, a little vanilla and toasty wood spice, very fine, youthful tannin, persistent on the palate, spicy and herbal, lots of minerality in the background, has bite and grip, cool and warm elements at the same time, still very young, some depth, slightly sweetish-flattering, very good finish.
