2011 Rüdesheim Berg Schlossberg Riesling Erstes Gewächs trocken, Rheingau, Germany

Deep, somewhat warm fruit of ripe, partly candied peaches and apricots with apple notes, dried citrus fruits, a little curry as well as fine floral and herbal aromas. Ripe, juicy, warm, dense fruit, noticeable sweetness and very fine acidity, candy notes and yellow spice on the palate, fine grip, clear, tart, stony minerality, tobacco nuances, plenty of power and good depth, warming alcohol, also has fresh tones behind all the candied flavours, delicately smoky in the background, a little black berry, very good, firm, juicy and grippy finish with sweetness and tart spice at the same time. Excellently made in its rather powerful style.
