2003 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Gewürztraminer Exilissi, Alto Adige, Italy

Light amber. Prominent oak on the nose, honey, rosewood, dried apricots, caramelised nuts and some wilted leaves. Sweetish floral notes in the mouth, creamy fruit, preserved yellow fruit and melon, high alcohol adds to the spicy character, very moderate acidity, oak already well integrated, develops depth and persistence with aeration, slightly sweet, caramel, toffee apples and camomile on a very good finish. Very powerful, but also very well balanced.
