2004 Südtirol / Alto Adige DOC Arzio, Alto Adige, Italy

Translate to English Etwas speckiger und an Mixed Pickles erinnernder Duft nach schwarzen und ein wenig roten Beeren mit einer Spur Dörrzwetschgen, schwarzen Oliven sowie erdigen Noten. Herbe dunkle Frucht im Mund, bitterliche, schokoladige und rauchige Holzwürze, feinsandiges, reifes Tannin, nachhaltig am Gaumen, speckige Töne, viel Kraft, zarter Biss, gewisse Wärme, hat durchaus Schliff, wirkt relativ frisch, im Abgang Schokolade, eingemachte Frucht und wieder bitterlich-rauchiges Holz.

Editor note: Slightly artificial but quite polished red berry nose, elegant touch of oak. Herbs and spices on the palate, light medicinal and bitter notes, berry fruit, licorice, oak fairly prominent, overall quite elegant but a little impersonal, clean and made in a very modern style, fine-grained but astringent tannins make the finish a little blunt.
