The winery is located in the municipality of Mülheim (Bernkastel area) in the German wine-growing region of
Mosel. The family's ancestors have been cultivating vineyards since 1706. Today, the business is run by Jörg Bauer and his son Thomas. The vineyards cover over eight hectares of vineyards in the single vineyards
Juffer(Brauneberg), Elisenberg and Kirchberg (Veldenz), as well as Elisenberg and
Sonnenlay (Mülheim). They are mainly planted with Riesling, as well as Müller-Thurgau, Kerner, Pinot Blanc, Pinot Noir and Dornfelder. Quality criteria in the vineyard are low pruning, targeted
thinning and late, selective hand harvesting from October to November. After gentle pressing, cool and slow fermentation takes place in classic wooden barrels or in stainless steel tanks. This is followed by long storage on the
fine lees until spring of the following year. In years with suitable weather conditions, ice wines are also produced. Noble brandies (pomace) and fruit liqueurs are also produced
