The estate is located in the Vogtsburg-Burkheim municipality (Kaiserstuhl area) in the German wine-growing region to bathe, The family coat of arms can be traced back to 1457. Viticulture in the traditional family has been practiced since the 17th century. Franz-Michael Bercher built the manor house with vaulted cellar in 1756, which has been family-owned ever since and is still the seat of the winery today. In the 1970s, the company was built by the two brothers Eckhardt and Rainer Bercher. Today, he is managed in the tenth generation of the family by their sons Martin Bercher (external company) and Arne Bercher (winegrowing). Werner Rehbein is responsible as cellar master. The vineyards cover 25 hectares of vineyards in individual locations Feuerberg and Castle garden (Burkheim) eichert and stone pit (Jechtingen), Hasenberg (Königschaffhausen), Limburg (Sasbach), and pews (Leiselheim).

They are made with the red wine varieties Pinot Noir with 40% of the area ( Pinot Noir ) and Cabernet Sauvignon, as well as with the white wines Riesling, Pinot Gris ( Pinot gris ), Pinot Blanc ( Pinot Blanc ) Riesling. The wines are 90% dry according to the VDP classification model on the Gutsweine, Ortsweine and Big plant expanded. The white wines are stored for a long time , The red wines mature in large wooden barrels, the selection wines in Barriques Barrique . Around 180,000 bottles of wine are produced annually. Fine brandies (yeast, wine, fruit) and bottle-fermented sparkling wines are also produced. The winery is a member of VDP (Association of German quality wine estates).
